2012 here we come

2011 has gone, in a torrent of rain
Santa has left, just the family remain

2012 has arrived, and already a month in
so if you had plans and goals for this year, I hope they have kicked in!

Whether it is to build better relationships
or work on your career,

to leave a legacy for others
or get your health into gear

you may want to improve your parenting, partnering or
be a better leader at work

or maybe you want to inspire others to take on the responsibilities they shirk!

if it is to enrich your life at work or home, whatever you need
here is some advice on how best to proceed...

Stick it up on a wall, make a collage
See those goals every day, on the fridge, in your wallet, in the garage
then break them down into daily chunks
and reward yourself for succeeding so you dont hit a funk!

And if all else fails, and you just cant make it happen
Call up a life coach or counsellor coz we help break old patterns
we will help you get there, and still in one piece
will hear your frustrations, let you vent and release

And last but not least
As we help you succeed
you may be surprised to find out which goals you really need

All the best for 2012 and the year that is ahead
I wrote this when I couldnt sleep so now I am off back to bed!

Poetry for New Year

Twas the night before New Years and all through our minds
We are pondering resolutions to take of all kinds
Maybe we'll get fitter
Or maybe lose weight
Maybe we'll change jobs
Or get out of bed before eightresolutions-angusandphil

We might try to quit smoking
Or start eating more greens
Be nicer to the neighbours
Cause a few less scenes

time for that career change?
or to get that new car
time to get promoted
time to improve your guitar

Whatever your New Year resolution, whatever your goals
take time to smell the roses and get in touch with your souls
For goals arent a bad thing, nor making new plans
I hope 2012 is a great one for you, however it lands

Life is like a box of chocolates

Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know just what you are going to get. However, planning can help!

Did you know that

We spend more time planning our next holiday than planning our career?

If we wind up in jobs we hate due to lack of planning, this leads to stress, burn-out, stuckness, reduced confidence and misery!

Career, Social, Financial, Physical then Community factors  are the lynchpins of wellbeing… in THAT order!

Don’t wait until you have left it too late! Planning and reviewing your career based on what is most important to you (your values) is essential to ensuring you find and sustain work that you love!

Here are the top 10 work values. Do the “CHOCOLATE” taste test to see which ones are most important to you. Rank them 1-10 in order of importance, add any that aren’t on this list and then check how well your job meets the criteria.
